  Ever hear the expression "Knowledge Is Power"? Well, gambling is no exception to the rule! Some Casino's offer free classes that will teach you the basic rules, let you practice a few hands (no money is wagered during classes) and teach you proper gamblers etiquette, tell you odds and show you how you would be paid for each hand.    
  These classes are free and usually have a good number of students so to guarantee yourself a seat, make sure you arrive early. This is your chance to ask all your questions. Do not hesitate to ask questions during the class. The instructors will gladly answer them and you won't be embarrassed being a novice. You might not get the same reception from fellow gamblers if you choose to ask questions or don't know proper etiquette once you are on the gaming floor involved in a "real game". Seasoned gamblers might get angry so this is your chance to ask everything you are not sure of. If you need more than one class you are always welcomed back or you might want to attend another Casino's class to see if they offer any additional tips.

  Please exercise some caution though. While the intentions of the instructors in these classes is good, they are, after all, employees of the casino, and will tend to "fluff over" the truly bad bets (this is particularly true at craps where the house percentage varies from 1.4% on the don't pass line to about 37% on the 12 (that's a one roll 12, available on the center spread and as a part of the field bet). So by all means, take the classes, get familiar and comfortable with the game, but also do some outside study so that you can avoid the real sucker propositions, you can bet the house won't warn you off them! More specific information on almost any game you might want to play is also available in our games section and many books about the various games are available through our bookstore.
